Clinical Focus:

I work as part of the multidisciplinary breast team as a breast radiologist.  As part of the radiology subset of the team, I interpret screening mammograms and MRIs in asymptomatic women, in an attempt to detect breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage.  Our radiology team also performs diagnostic examinations in mammography, ultrasound, and MRI, in order to diagnose cancers that are either symptomatic or found with screening exams.  We also perform breast biopsies for tissue diagnosis and tumor characterization, as well as cyst aspirations and needle localizations for lumpectomy.  We often work alongside the Breast Nurse Navigator to help transition newly diagnosed breast cancer patients to the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Other areas of focus include resident education in breast imaging through quarterly didactic lectures and daily rotations with hands-on clinical training.  Public education on the importance of screening mammography is also a focus through various media appearances and presentations.
