Clinical Focus and Research:

My clinical focus is on the treatment of recurrent colorectal cancer.  My particular emphasis is on avoiding permanent colostomies.  I have a longstanding interest in treatment of recurrent rectal cancers where surgery, combined with chemotherapy, offers the best promise for prolongation of life, and in some cases, cure.

My research interests include the development of blood tests to detect cancer at earlier stages, as well as the finding of cancer in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
