Clinical Focus and Research:

My clinical focus is directed at performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures to both diagnose and treat patients with cancer.  I perform biopsies with image guidance to diagnose cancer.  I also perform a variety of procedures aimed at treating cancer, most commonly cancers within the liver.  Some of the procedures I perform include radioembolization, chemoembolization, and tumor ablation.  I work with a variety of physicians, including medical oncologists, surgeons, and radiation oncologists, to determine the best treatment option for each patient based on his or her specific medical history.  I also perform palliative interventions to help patients deal with chronic pain issues.  Some of the palliative interventions I perform include nerve blocks and cementoplasty of painful bone metastases.

I am currently a sub-investigator for the STOP-HCC protocol, a Phase III clinical trial of intra-arterial TheraSphere® in the treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and the EPOCH protocol, a Phase III clinical trial evaluating TheraSphere® in patients with metastatic colorectal carcinoma of the liver who have failed first line chemotherapy.
