Clinical Focus and Research:

Dr. Silverman is Professor and Vice Chairman for Patient Care in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Louisville.  As a key member of the Melanoma Multi-Disciplinary Clinic, he collaborates with Drs. McMasters, Miller and Chesney to use stereotactic radiation to reduce the symptoms caused by melanoma metastases as well as to amplify the clinical benefits of immunotherapies. Dr. Silverman is a regional expert in the management of melanoma brain metastases using radiation therapy and also has significant expertise with radiation therapy for multiple other solid tumor types afflicting both children and adults.

Dr. Silverman is an investigator on ~20 clinical trials of novel radiation therapy regimens that are funded by the National Cancer Institute’s Radiation Therapy Oncology Group.
