Requirements for Application: Submit a completed Intern Application, resume, cover letter, and background check to Adrienne Eisenmenger. Complete an interview and provide proof of COVID vaccination.
Notice: For individuals, pairing happens immediately after completing the application. For group activities, a 2-3 week notice is required.

Internship Requirements: Interns must commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week for at least 8 weeks, or a minimum total of 80 hours.

Organization goals: The HOPE Medical Clinic, run by students of the University of Louisville School of Medicine, provides free health care to members of Louisville’s underserved community. Many of the patients speak little or no English. We are seeking volunteer Spanish translators to aid us in better serving these patients. The clinic is open on Monday, 6-9pm.

Organization goals: Just Solutions exists to promote nonviolent ways of dealing with conflict, managing change and building community. It is the only full service mediation training and services center in the metropolitan Louisville, Kentucky area. Just Solutions Mediation Services provides facilitation, conflict management and mediation training, and case mediation for disputes in the following areas: family, business, employee relations, healthcare, housing, organizations and community. The mediators represent a variety of work experiences—law, business, counseling, human resource management, the public sector, social work, education and psychotherapy.

Organization goals: The Kentucky Racing Health Services Center is a medical clinic, staffed with UofL nursing and medical students. The clinic services the backside workers in the horseracing indiustry at Churchill Downs. The workers are predominantly Hispanic, and we are seeking volunteer Spanish translators to aid us in better serving these patients. The clinic is open Monday 10-12, Tuesday 4:30-7:30, and Friday 1-3.

Organization goals: As part of its services to the public, the Louisville Free Public Library provides programs and events geared to the international population. Among those services are materials in native languages and multicultural programming. Among the programs offered are English Conversation Clubs designed to help non-native English speakers improve their language skills, Bilingual Cafes allowing participants to practice both English and Spanish, and foreign language computer classes.
