On May 6, 2020, the US Department of Education issued new regulations that took effect on August 14, 2020. The University of Louisville as a recipient of federal funding is required to abide by all of these regulations which carry the force of law. Below are clarifying answers to questions.

Prevention Training

UofL is committed to keeping the health and well-being of the campus community in the forefront of our thinking and this training is in line with that commitment. Additionally, the University is required by federal law, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), to provide “primary prevention and awareness programs for all incoming students.” The University utilizes curriculum provided by Vector Solutions to meet the training requirements of the law.

We provide this training to all new undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, in an effort to make our campus safer. We appreciate you demonstrating your commitment to campus safety by completing this training.
