Russia Hacking the 2020 Election: Information Blitzkrieg for the 21st Century

Thursday, October 1; 6:00 PM
All U.S. intelligence agencies--and the Mueller report--agree that Russian hackers sought to influence the 2016 presidential elections, that the Russians wanted to see Hillary Clinton defeated and Donald Trump elected. Now the Office of National Intelligence and the Director of the FBI claim Russia is again seeking to shape the 2020 elections. Their goal is to discredit Joe Biden, get Donald Trump reelected, exacerbate racial and partisan divisions within the American electorate, and ultimately weaken the United States. Information warfare is the new challenge to U.S. security—are we prepared? Prof. Charles E. Ziegler (Political Science), specialist on the domestic, foreign and security policies of Russia and Eurasia, will give this talk via Zoom.
Register in advance.
