Scholarship Opportunities
Our office, the Student Financial Aid Office, and the state of Kentucky offer several scholarships specifically for adult students returning to finish their undergraduate degrees. More detailed information can be found on our Transfer & Adult Scholarships page.
In addition to applying for scholarships, we highly encourage every student complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). UofL's school code is 001999.
Bernard Osher Reentry Scholarship - open to adult students completing their first bachelor’s degree after a combined gap of 5+ years from higher education. The deadline is June 1st.
Go Higher Grant - offered through KHEAA, this is a need-based grant for students 24+ years old and plan to attend part-time.
Fields Alumni Scholarship - students must be 25+ years and attending UofL full-time. They must be supporting at least one dependent and have a minimum cumulative 3.0GPA. The deadline is March 15th.
New Beginning Scholarship Fund - open to students who demonstrate financial need and are returning to school after a break of at least 1 year. Students cannot be claimed as a dependent and are required to maintain at least a cumulative 2.0GPA to be considered for renewal.
Community Foundation of Louisville Scholarships - various opportunities for non-traditional students that requires an online application to determine eligibility. The application opens from December to March each year.
P.E.O Program for Continuing Education - P.E.O International offers a one-time need based grant to women who are within 24 months of completing her degree. This award is not tuition-specific.
Jeannette Rankin Scholarship - open to low-income women who are 35+ years and pursuing their undergraduate degree. Deadline is March 1st; the application will re-open November 2018.
