Orientation Parking and Directions
🚧 Interstate 65 Closure & Travel Advisory
A portion of Interstate 65 in Louisville (Jefferson Street to Watterson Expressway) - the primary interstate route to campus - will be fully closed for repairs from June through July 2026.
Due to expected traffic congestion and delays across surrounding roadways, all students and family members attending New Cards Orientation or Family Orientation should plan to allow at least 45 extra minutes of travel time, regardless of their route.
🚗 Suggested Routes to Floyd Street Parking Garage
From I-65 North:
- Take Exit 131A to I-264 West (Watterson Expressway)
- Take the Crittenden Drive exit
- Right on Crittenden Dr → Left on Central Ave → Right on S. Floyd St
- Garage entrance will be on your left (Permit Entrance)
From I-65 South:
- Take Exit 136C to Jefferson St / Brook St
- Merge onto S. Brook St and continue ~1–1.5 miles
- Right on E. Chestnut St → Left on S. Floyd St
Garage will be on your right past the Student Activities Center (Permit Entrance)
Orientation Parking
Attendees must use the Orientation Parking available for new students and families in the Floyd Street Parking Garage, located at 2126 South Floyd Street. The gates to the permit side of the garage (the entrance across the street from the playground, near McDonald's) will be up upon your arrival. Please go to the 4th level of the garage to park. If all spaces on the 4th level are full, you may use the 3rd level. You may park in orange or blue spaces in the garage. Once parked, take the 3rd floor walkway across the train tracks. Take the elevator or stairs to the street level. There is no cost to you to park in this garage for New Cards Orientation.
