Cards Come Together: A Day of Service and Cardinal Spirit
October 31, 2025
On October 13, members of the University of Louisville community, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni, joined efforts for Cards Come Together, a campus-wide day of service dedicated to supporting the welfare and vitality of the Louisville metro area.
From planting flowers to assembling snack kits, volunteers demonstrated what it means to be a Cardinal through action, compassion, and community engagement. The event brought participants together across multiple service sites to make a meaningful difference through hands-on projects that reflected UofL’s commitment to service and civic responsibility.
Volunteers worked alongside community partners including Metro United Way, where teams assembled and decorated snack kits for nonprofit partners; SOS International, where participants sorted medical supplies to be redistributed around the world; and WaterStep, where volunteers helped bundle and ship donated shoes to developing countries. Additional teams partnered with the UofL Envirome Institute and Louisville Grows to plant flower bulbs near 3rd and Florence, adding beauty to the local landscape and supporting environmental sustainability.
Each site reflected a different way Cardinals give back, through health, environmental care, global outreach, and community building. Participants not only contributed their time and energy but also built connections across campus and the city.
Cards Come Together is more than a single day of service, it’s a celebration of Cardinal spirit, collaboration, and compassion. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped strengthen the bond between the University of Louisville and the community it proudly calls home.
