Letter to future UofL Students

Many (many, many) years ago I was a transfer student at the University of Louisville. I loved my new university, the professors, the excitement of a Division I school and the campus life. I hated not knowing where to park, which professors to take, where to get the best campus food and the “run-around” I got as I tried to enroll. At times, it was a lonely experience and it took me a while to get used to my new college.

The job of ULtra is to help make your transition to UofL a little easier. We can help you before you transfer by advising you on classes that will count toward your major.  We regularly take students to the UofL campus for tours geared to the transfer student, not just a 17 year old high school student.  Our L.E.A.D. Program will allow you to explore graduate and professional degrees at the School of Law, the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Education and Business, and the Kent School of Social Work.  If you would like to sit in on a class at UofL, let us know and we will arrange for you to visit the class and meet with the professor.

ULtra students can even purchase a UofL student ID card and take advantage of the great gyms and work out facilities both Downtown and on the Belknap campus.  The student ID cards also give you access to intramurals and social activities.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Mandlehr, Ed.D.
