Personal Statement:
“As Senior Academic Counselor for the University of Louisville (UofL) Transfer Program-ULtra, I advise Jefferson Community and Technical College students on appropriate academic paths and resources to achieve their educational goals toward earning a Bachelor’s degree.
I often find that students enter my advising sessions with little or no knowledge on how to connect to campus resources to aid them with their matriculation to UofL. I can identify and relate with our students being a first generation college student who experienced similar educational barriers when entering college. As a struggling student, I found it difficult to personally adapt to the rigorous and independent college curriculum coming from a high school setting. My acquired educational and personal experiences allow me to bridge the gap between faculty and students which I believe makes me an excellent advisor.”
