Academic Planning and Accountability

The associate provost for academic planning and accountability is involved in a number of university-wide activities related to assessment and planning. The associate provost coordinates the academic program approval and review processes, center and institute approval and review processes, the assessment of student learning outcomes in the academic programs, activities related to educational affiliations, agreements on tuition reciprocity, and the university’s involvement in the Academic Common Market. The associate provost serves as the liaison for the University of Louisville to the Council on Postsecondary Education on academic matters.
The associate provost is involved with coordinating the university’s strategic planning efforts and related budget decisions and advises the provost on faculty position retention requests.
The associate provost oversees the activities of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, which include data management and implementing the university’s assessment plan. The associate provost also oversees all of the activities related to the university’s accreditation and academic program accreditation.
