Academic Planning and Accountability

Robert S. Goldstein

The associate provost for academic accountability, institutional research and effectiveness is involved in a number of university-wide activities, including institutional research and planning (i.e., data management, assessment plans); institutional effectiveness (i.e., student learning outcomes, retention management and research); and the unit budget. Together with the assistant provost for accreditation, academic planning and engagement, the associate provost is responsible for all matters concerning Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation, program accreditation, academic program approval and review, educational affiliations, centers and institutes, tuition reciprocity and the academic common market. The associate provost serves as the university liaison to the Council on Postsecondary Education on academic matters.
