Introduction

On 23 January 2007, Provost Willihnganz created the Task Force on International Initiatives with the following charge:

The time has come to rethink our approach to international activities (including human and financial investment) in relation to global concerns and opportunities and in conjunction with the strategic planning process that is underway. Specifically, I ask that the committee:

  • develop a vision for international involvement at UofL
  • recommend an organizational structure for all international activities
  • recommend the role and function for the new structure

I would like to have the task force’s report and recommendations by May 31, 2007.

This committee met several times as a whole and in subgroups. Past and current activities were not critiqued; the focus is what we believe best for the future.
