Exchange Programs - Montpellier, France
Program Information
The Montpellier, France Year-long exchange is made available through the Sister Cities partnership between the cities of Louisville, Kentucky and Montpellier, France. Applications are invited from U of L students with an interest in French culture and language to study at the Université Paul Valéry (UPV III) in Montpellier. The program is hosted by the Institute for Foreign Students at UPV III of the Université de Montpellier, which is the equivalent of an American College of Arts and Sciences. Scholarship recipients are expected to return to the University of Louisville to resume their studies. The scholarship recipient will spend two semesters studying in Montpellier. All classes are conducted in French.
Paul Valery University Academic Year: Mid-September to Late June (students may arrive earlier to take French language classes)
Scholarship
The scholarship award is paid as a monthly stipend, part of which is used to pay the student’s room, board, university fees, and some personal expenses while in Montpellier. Scholarship Award includes:
- Waiver of tuition at Paul Valery University
- A stipend of 457.347 Euros per month for 10 consecutive months - 10 months x 457.34 Euros = 4,573.47 Euros or $5,875.40 U.S. Dollars (as of 8/23/06)
