Student National Coordinating Committee (SNCC)
The role of the SNCC is to serve as a voice of progressive political and social consciousness and collective action. Perry W. Green III is the chair of SNCC. In addition to Perry, there are some of the current officers: Victor Mwimanzi, Vice-Chair; Rosie Washington, Secretary; Juanita Scott, Treasurer; Mikal Forbush, Chief of Staff; and Adam Elmaghraby, Historian.
SNCC members participated in the March on Washington this past December involving
the U.S. Supreme Court case, Meredith v. Board of Education. Note: Legal arguments
were heard in the case and a decision will be made this summer or early fall.
In February 2007, the group plans to participate in a rally in Frankfort,
Ky., regarding the funding of higher education.
