The U of L Medical/Dental School Satellite Office
The U of L School of Medicine Office for Minority and Rural Affairs has a satellite office located on Belknap Campus in the Minority Affairs Building. The Minority and Rural Affairs satellite promoted special programs for students from medically underserved rural and urban areas in Kentucky and students of ethnic or racial populations under represented in medicine.
The satellite provides materials, resources, networking, mentoring, research/summer programs and academic guidance for pre-health students preparing for medical or dental school. Special programs are provided through our office:
- Professional Education Preparation Program (PEEP) Pre-college Summer Workshop
- MCAT-DAT Summer Workshop
- Minority Association of Pre-medical Students (MAPS)
- PACE Summer Medical Dental Education
- Medical Education Development Program
- Pre-matriculation Program
- Students are welcome to be a part of a positive and nurturing environment that motivates them to set realistic and attainable goals and take the necessary steps to reach them. Students are strongly encouraged to strive for excellence!
