Jamil Anderson
Jamil Anderson of Louisville, KY began teaching music at the age of 15 in her home church, Forrest Tabernacle Baptist Church, where her father is the pastor. Later in her musical career, Jamil was one of the founding directors of a youth gospel choir at Eastern High School in 1997, the first youth gospel ensemble at a secondary school.
Anderson attended the University of Louisville, where she joined the Black Diamond Choir in her freshmen year. Jamil signed on as an Assistant Directoir of the Chosen Generation of God for 6 years, under the direction of Neicy Robertson. In 2005, Jamil added to her impressive musical resume and assumed the role of Minister of Worship at Elim Baptist Church. She now serves as Minister of Music at Elim Baptist.
In the Fall of 2006, the University of Louisville Black Diamond Choir graciously received Jamil as their Director. She shows enthusiasm for the job and has set a bar of excellence for the choir. The Black Diamond Choir continues to be blessed by her powerful leadership and genuine ministry
Ron Jones, Choir Instructor
Ron Jones
Ron Jones holds a Master's in Educational Administration from Western Kentucky University and a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary and Special Education form the University of Louisville with a minor in Pan-African Studies. He is a distinguish fellow from the Kentucky Department of Education and Leadership Initiative.
Education plays a very serious role in developing intellect and establishing self worth for today's youth. With this philosophy Mr. Jones is a highly sought out educator within the Jefferson County Public Schools systems. He conducts workshops and Professional Development sessions on motivating and reaching at risk students. Currently he serves as an Intermediate Resource Teacher with this school district where he has designed several educational initiatives that have gained district and national recognition for promoting student achievement. He has worked with such organizations as: The National Association for Black School Educators, Greater Louisville Association of Black School Educators, Phi Beta Kappa, NAACP National Education Alliance, Whitney Young Scholars, Lincoln Foundation, JCPS Minority Teacher Recruitment Project.
Mr. Jones is very active in the community and religious affairs. He works as a Religious Announcer/Music Consultant for Mortison Broadcast company: WLOU/WLLV Radio. He has been active in national media outlets such as The National Association of Black Journalist and The National Religious Broadcasters Coalition. His radio and communication background span from the year 1984 to the present. He is the television host for the Louisville's Gospel Music Review (Louisville's #1 Gospel Music Video show). He also works as a gospel music consultant and travels throughout the country for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, The National Creative Gospel College Choir Festival and the International Church of God in Christ Music and Youth departments. Currently he serves as the Assistant Dean and Nightly Musical Coordinator for the International Church of God in Christ Music and Youth Department summer convention (AIM). He is the Administrative assistant for the national convention of the Gospel Music Workshop of America Religious Announcers Guild and instructor for the University of Louisville Black Diamond Choir. He is actively involved in his local church (Moore Temple COGIC) where he serves as a choir director and the coordinator of Public Relations.
Totally committed to a holistic, spiritual foundation he is an anointed young man. One who believes in the fervent traditional teachings of the bible and seeks to be a positive role model in every aspect of his life.
