BDC Class
The University of Louisville Black Diamond Choir (BDC) is a one-hour credited musical performance course offered under the university's School of Music. This course is aimed at cultivating and developing musical appreciation in the area of Sacred/Gospel Music. The class is designed to effectively demonstrate and communicate the artistry of Sacred/Gospel Music through class presentations and musical performances. Through these presentations and performances, students are exposed to various styles of Sacred/Gospel Music. Students are also sensitized to the responsibility and ideology that Sacred/Gospel Music has educational and artistic cultural values. These values are expressed within the African American Experience and give shape to American Mainstream Music.
