Is This Certificate Program NAPM-Approved?
All courses were developed using competencies identified by the National Association of Purchasing Management. Participants earn 14 NAPM continuing education hours following completion of each two-day course.
How Is the Test Administered?
Within two weeks following course completion, participants will receive take-home, open book exam, which will be sent to and graded by the instructor. Participants with a score of 70% or highter will receive a notice of successful completion. Those with unsatisfactory scores may retake the exam one time only.
How Do I Receive Credit for Certificate Courses Previously Completed?
Credit courses taken prior to inauguration of the certificate course program (May 2001) is restricted, because course curriculum is constantly evaluated and updated. Full credit will be granted for one core course and one elective course completed as far back as January 1999 following testing/passing score of 70% or higher. I Attended a University of Louisville Purchasing Class Hosted by My Organization. Can This Course Count Toward Completion of the Certificate Program?
Yes. You can receive the same credit for a customized, in-house course (January 1999-present) as you would for a public course. A satisfactory exam score is required.
Can I Take the Certificate Courses without Participating in the Certificate Program?
Yes. Courses can be taken individually or as part of the certificate program.
Can Successful Completion of an Academic, For-Credit Course Count Toward Completion?
No. This is a non-credit certificate program comprised only of non-credit courses.
Can Completion of Other Providers' Purchasing Courses Count Toward Completion?
No. This is an exclusive, University of Louisville certificate program requiring completion of non-credit purchasing courses offered by the university's Center for Continuing and Professional Education.

I Have Completed the Requirements for Your Certificate of Excellence in Purchasing. Can these Courses Count Toward Completion?
Yes, as long as you completed the courses after January 1, 1999 and you pass the written exams.
