Establishment of a New Degree Option in an Existing Degree Area

Proposal Format

  1. Provide a brief rationale for the new degree option.
  2. Please provide a copy of the curriculum of the new degree option and a copy of the existing degree option in the same area. Provide a brief rationale for the new option and discuss any differences between the new option and the existing option.
  3. Discuss the impact of adding the new degree option on the University’s mission, strategic plan, and its goals.
  4. Discuss the impact of the new degree option on:
    1. Faculty – employment, workloads, etc.
    2. Student Enrollment
    3. Financial Resources (i.e., what financial support will be needed to add the new option)
    4. Other University Programs
