Research
The Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology supports a long tradition of cutting-edge basic and clinical research conducted by outstanding faculty, who are integrated into the research enterprise of the University of Louisville. We are dedicated to discovering and teaching new knowledge of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, including Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, motility disorders, Barrett's esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux, NASH, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatitis, and liver transplantation. Our dedication has resulted in more effective methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. We are privileged to have several of our faculty who serve as presidents of nationally-recognized societies and editorial positions of leading gastroenterology journals.
