Students take part in Interschool Student Research Competition at Indiana University
Three students were entered in the Indiana University School of Dentistry's Interschool Student Research Competition on Monday, April 11, 2011: Porscha Jefferson, Carol Patel, and Emily Revels.
All three represented ULSD well and attracted much interest at their poster presentations, part of the IUSD Research Day. The event was co-sponsored by the IUSD's American Association for Dental Research section.
Carol Patel won one of the two first prizes in the competition of 16 pre-doctoral dental students from the six regional dental schools: Case Western, Detroit-Mercy, Indiana, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, and Louisville. She received a check for $300 for the Interschool Dental Student Research Traveling Award.
Dean John N. Williams provided the welcome address to the Research Day event and the University of Kentucky's Dr. Jeffrey L. Ebersole, President-Elect of the American Association for Dental Research, was the primary speaker.
