Departmental Signoffs for Initial Submissions
- Beginning July 1, 2023, only new IRB applications for studies falling under full board review require sign off in iRIS by the department assigned Scientific and Scholarly Merit Reviewer and Department Chair. More information can be found here.

Conducting Research in Jefferson County Public Schools
- Contact the JCPS IRB with your research idea to ensure the research will be allowed within the school system.
- You must obtain approval from the JCPS IRB prior to submitting to the University of Louisville IRB.
- Information for conducting research in the JCPS System and submitting to the JCPS IRB can be found on their website. The website includes JCPS policies, templates, and application process information.
- Once you obtain JCPS IRB approval, submit the approved materials to the UofL IRB through iRIS following the steps outlined on the Initial Submission tab.
