All animal orders must be placed through the CMRU. Once your IACUC proposal has been approved and you’ve arranged housing with an CMRU husbandry supervisor, submit an online animal order through eSirius. If you are a new investigator, you will need to fill out the eSirius Account Request Form in order to access eSirius and the eSirius Speed Type Request Form to setup billing.
The ordering deadline is Wednesdays at noon. Any orders submitted after this time will not be delivered the following week.
The vendor stock numbers that are required to order animals are located on the vendors' websites:
You can log in to eSirius to see if an animal order has been received.
Yellow cards indicate that an animal has recently undergone a surgical procedure. Research Personnel must place the yellow specialty cards in front of cage cards after survival surgery is performed. The date of the surgical procedure must still be recorded on rodent cage cards, per IACUC policy. The yellow cards will serve to remind research staff that suture/clip removal may be necessary, and also improve health monitoring by CMRU husbandry & veterinary staff. The yellow cards should be removed from cages 10-14 days after surgery, typically when sutures/staples are removed.
Red cards indicate that animals are on an CMRU Holding Protocol (and cannot be experimentally manipulated). No work can be conducted on animals in cages with red cards. Contact your CMRU husbandry supervisor if you have questions about red cards.
Cage cards can be ordered through the Cage Card Request Form.
All protocol transfer requests should be submitted using the Housing and/or Protocol Transfer Request Form.
All physical transfer requests should be submitted using the Housing and/or Protocol Transfer Request Form.
