Individualized Major Title: Business Communications “Combining my individualized major with a major in graphic design has been extremely beneficial and has pushed me to grow in unimaginable ways. Deepening my graphic design education through the lenses of business, communication, and humanities has opened many doors of opportunity. The individualized major gave me my perfect “goldilocks” major — and made me feel just right — and for that I am thankful!” |

Individualized Major Title: Business Communications and Film Production “My individualized major through the liberal studies program prepared me for my next stages by helping me learn to communicate effectively through writing and speaking. I took business to help me learn how to build an accurate business plan to keep track of risk and growth opportunities. I took film to learn how to capture great moments on film and learn the skill of visionary communication and working with a crew to bring the script to life.” |

Individualized Major Title: Globalized Health “The individualized major program has helped prepare me for these next chapters in life by allowing me to explore whole-heartedly all the areas of concentrations that I have been interested in and that allowed me to become knowledgeable in so many areas that interconnect and apply to Global Health. This would have not been so possible with a traditional degree/program, so I am grateful for the opportunity to take control of my higher education and curate a program that was a perfect fit specifically for me." |

Individualized Major Title: Immigration Legal Studies “The Liberal Studies Program has been invaluable to my personal, academic, and professional advancement. As a student who took many classes in a variety of departments in search of the areas of study that evoked the most passion in me, my individualized major created a unique space to craft my exploratory transcript into a major with immense clarity and direction." |

Individualized Major Title: Narrative Craft “The Individualized Major is a program necessarily focused on the freedom of the student, the freedom of class choice, of schedule choice, of major choice. It is through the freedom of this wonderful program that I’ve been able to readily pursue my career in creative writing, take a whole handful of workshops, apply for and be granted scholarships, and participate in extracurricular writing activities. The flexibility and room that the Individualized Major gives students in its care is, from my view, unparalleled. It was only through the encouragement and malleability of my major that I’ve been able to grow as much as I have, as a student, writer, and person, too.” |

Individualized Major Title: National Security “I wanted a college experience that informed and prepared me to be a good global citizen, and a good Air Force Officer. Being able to study Russian, Linguistics and Political Science has given me the edge I wanted on international relations and national security, but also on the importance of language and culture, and I am so grateful to have been a part of the Liberal Studies Program!” |

Individualized Major Title: Political Organization “The Liberal Studies Program gave me agency over what I wanted my education and experience to be in my time at the University of Louisville. It gave me an opportunity to utilize my real-world experience in the classroom, which is something you often struggle to find as an undergraduate. I feel better prepared for both my professional career and post-grad education.” |

Individualized Major Title: Human Rights “The Individualized Major has set me up for everything that I have aspired to do. The Individualized Major allowed me to take a hand-crafted path of study focused on protecting and supporting Human Rights at a Domestic and International level. It also allowed me to take on internships and other opportunities that let me put that knowledge into practice during my undergraduate career. These experiences have undoubtedly prepared me to take on Human Rights Law as I pursue further study at Harvard Law School. Without the Individualized Major I would not have had many of the opportunities that defined my undergraduate career.” |
