Thomas Wayne Edison an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Latin American and Latino Studies Program. Originally from Louisville, Edison received his BA and MAT from the University of Louisville. This Fulbright Scholar has published several articles and presented at numerous national and international conferences. His current area of research is African-Caribbean spirituality in contemporary Latin American narrative and cinema. Before coming to the University of Louisville, he taught at Anne Arundel College, Arnold, MD where he was Chair of the Department of World Languages and he worked at Hanover College, Hanover, IN. He has served as an active member including First Vice-President for the Maryland Foreign Language Association (MFLA), the College Language Association (CLA) and the Latin American Studies Association (LASA).
