First Destination Survey (FDS)

The First Destination Survey (FDS) is a survey completed in Cardinal Careers by all soon-to-be or recently graduated students from the University of Louisville. The FDS captures information regarding how new college graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation. The annual initiative provides clear, concise, and consistent data on the outcomes associated with a college education on a national scale. 

Potential outcomes include increased knowledge rates of: 

  1. Types of employment - full or part time, contract, freelance, military service, volunteer work, etc.
  2. Additional education, e.g., accepted to graduate or professional school
  3. Still seeking either employment or further education
  4. Starting salary for those employed full time

Students who have applied for graduation or are within six months of their graduation date can access their FDS by clicking on the appropriate link below: 

  • 2024-2025 FDS: Complete this survey if you graduated in August 2024, December 2024, or May 2025. The 24-25 FDS will close on December 31, 2025.
  • 2025-2026 FDS:  Complete this survey if you graduated in August 2025, December 2025, or May 2026. The 25-26 FDS will close on December 31, 2026.

By completing the 2025-2026 FDS, students are entered into a raffle for a chance to win a UofL branded diploma frame or padfolio.
