Hire an Intern

Once you develop your internship experience, we encourage you to post your position in one of two ways. Traditional internships can be posted in Cardinal Careers and micro-internships can be posted through Parker Dewey. See below for both options!
General Internship Requirements
All UofL internships (and co-ops) are posted in Cardinal Careers. If academic credit is required, there are approximately 30 academic programs with faculty advisors. It is the student's responsibility to arrange academic credit with their faculty advisor. Employers cannot guarantee an experience will meet the criteria for academic credit.
- Be carefully monitored work experiences in which students have intentional learning goals/objectives
- Promote academic, career, and/or personal development
- Be paid or unpaid
- Have a minimum work term of at least 12 hours/week, at least two months, and at least 150 work hours
- Define whether the hired intern will need to complete the opportunity for academic credit or not-for academic credit
- Keep contact with Internship Coordinator throughout the work term
- Be uploaded into Cardinal Careers
- Year-round source of highly motivated pre-professionals
- Students bring new perspectives to old problems
- Visibility of your organization is increased at the University of Louisville
- Quality candidates for temporary or seasonal positions or projects
- Freedom for professional staff to pursue more creative projects
- Flexible, cost-effective work force not requiring a long-term employer commitment
- Proven, cost-effective way to recruit and evaluate potential employees

The University of Louisville has partnered with Parker Dewey to provide UofL students the opportunity to participate in micro-internships. Micro-internships are short-term, paid, remote work opportunities offered from a wide array of industries and disciplines.
