Cultural Heritage
Jasenovac Stone Flower by Cody Raisor.
This is a stone flower monument at Jasenovac, which was a forced labor and extermination camp during WW2. Hundreds of thousands died here. This is a photo of a rainbow hitting the memorial after a rainy day, showing that even in the most somber of places, there is still light.
Ancient City
Gondola Boats in Veniceby Justin Overstreet.
Taken in Venice, Italy.
Oceans and Sunsets
Amazon Sunset by Grant Maglinger.
This picture was taken from the canopy walkway in the Amazon Rainforest. This was 118 feet above the jungle floor. This was also the spot we would go every morning to watch the sunrise and to look for tropical birds. This photo was taken in the Amazon Rainforest near the Sucusari River and Napo River.
Modern City
Puerta De Ninguna Parte by Sarika Polcum.
This was taken very close to Plaza de Armas in Santiago, Chile which was bustling with vendors, artesans, and cityfolk. When I turned the corner, I stumbled upon this breathtaking and timeless sight. Here I saw architecture that took me back over a hundred years. On top of all that, the light seeping through the gateway was calling me to enter and take a photo of the glorious sight.
Mountains and Landscapes
Lookout on Ao Nang by Lindsay Haralu.
Taken over the scenic viewpoint of isthmus and cliffs in Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand.
Plants and Wildlife
Alleyway in Valparaíso by Sarika Polcum.
I stumbled upon this colorful alleyway on the streets of Valparaíso. Despite many of the colorful streets, this one was idyllic and timeless in a sense. At just the perfect moment, the perrito that was following us got lost in the magic of the alleyway too.
BEST OVERALL
Valley Under the Forte di Bard by Danielle Hall.
Mountain town along the scenic route down from the Forte di Bard.
