About

Allison Rief joined the Brandeis School of Law in September 2017. As the Interim Assistant Director of Admissions, she is responsible for application counseling and assists with developing and implementing marketing, recruitment and yield strategies for the Brandeis School of Law.  

Before coming to Brandeis, Rief spent five years working as an Assistant Public Defender in the adult trial division of the Louisville Metro Public Defender Corporation. In that role, she provided representation to indigent criminal defendants in all proceedings ranging from arraignment to trial. In 2015, she attended the National Public Defender Training Program at the University of Dayton.

Rief earned her J.D. at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in New York, where she participated on the St. John’s University/FINRA Securities Dispute Resolution Competition team and served as the Chief Business Administrator for the Family Court Review. She was also a Public Justice Fellowship recipient. She received a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Hanover College, where she was chosen as the representative for the school to the Student Conference on United States Affairs at West Point Military Academy in 2007. 

Rief lives in Louisville with her husband, Evan, and their two dogs, Clementine and Luna.
