Community Internship (WGST 401)

All BA/BS majors and LGBTQ minors in WGST have the opportunity to engage in service learning. Students in the major are required to complete a 70-hour internship in which they apply feminist research to community problems related to women, gender, or sexuality. Students work with a local community organization of their choosing to develop a project that serves the needs of the organization and they critically reflect on their experience utilizing theories and frameworks from WGST coursework.

Courses

Women's and Gender Studies offers courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels (100-, 200-, 300-, 400-, 500-, and 600-levels). Most of our courses are cross-listed or co-listed with other Arts and Sciences departments.

600-level courses are open only to graduate students. Many 500-level courses are open to advanced undergraduates as well as graduate students.
