Louisville, Ky. (April 27, 2025) – The McConnell Center recognized the McConnell Scholars Class of 2025 Sunday at the Center’s annual senior dinner. The accomplished group of twelve will graduate from UofL on May 10.

“The McConnell Center is the hardest thing I have ever had to leave behind. I am forever grateful for the impact the center has had on me as a person, an academic, and a professional. As I reflect on my four years as a McConnell Scholar, I am deeply humbled to have had the opportunity to travel the world, sit under the instruction of experts in a variety of fields, learn from my peers, and meet distinguished leaders that are shaping the modern world,” senior Scholar and McConnell Scholars Council Chair Camryn McPherson said. “The McConnell Center will forever be an integral part of my life and my person, and I am grateful to be a small piece of its history.” 

McConnell Scholars receive world-class opportunities including guaranteed full in-state tuition to UofL; mentored studies of classical literature and leadership; international and domestic travel; and access to the McConnell Center’s vast alumni network.

Students are also able to engage with some of the world's most prominent leaders. During their tenure at UofL, the McConnell Scholar Class of 2025 met with (among others):

  • U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL)
  • U.S. Representative Morgan McGarvey (D-KY 03)
  • Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Oksana Markarova
  • Ambassador of Australia to the U.S. Kevin Rudd
  • U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ)
  • U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
  • U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett

Sunday’s senior dinner program celebrated the 29th class to graduate from the McConnell Center. Graduating scholars include:

  • Logan Bibby (Louisville, Ky.): Logan studied communications, political science, Spanish, and strategic communication and social media. At UofL, she served as the program planning and development chair for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a C.O.N.E.C.T peer mentor, a member of the public relations shell team at The Bird’s Nest Student Marketing Agency, and communications director for the Student Government Association. Logan is the 2024 University of Louisville Homecoming Queen and worked as a community engagement intern at Family Scholar House. After graduation, Logan will be entering the workforce.
  • Piper Coleman (Bowling Green, Ky.): Piper Coleman majored in geography on an environmental analysis track with minors in philosophy and political science. At UofL, she served as the executive director of the Engage Lead Serve Board and was both a Jones and Honors Scholar. Piper also worked as a legal assistant at Cotton Wolfinbarger and Associates and a NASA DEVELOP intern. At NASA, her team researched the feasibility of using NASA Earth-observing satellites to assess air quality in the Hampton Roads region, which resulted in her work being published. After graduation, Piper plans to take a gap year before pursuing law school. 
  • Megan Crowley (Butler, Ky.): Megan will be graduating with degrees in political science and philosophy with a minor in history. During her time at UofL, Megan served as the programming director of the Engage Lead Serve Board, vice chair of the McConnell Scholars Council, and was a member of Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity and the undergraduate Moot Court team. As a member of the Moot Court team, she placed 13th in the country at the National Moot Court Competition at the Texas Tech University School of Law. Megan will be graduating with distinction for completion of an undergraduate thesis entitled "Epistemic Dysfunction in American Politics: The Impact of Misinformation on Knowledge Acquisition.” After graduation, she plans to take a gap year before attending law school. 
  • Shelby Disney (Corbin, Ky.): Shelby will be graduating with a degree in political science. At UofL, he served as the chief of staff of the Student Government Association and interned for AARP. Shelby also served as the McConnell Scholar’s Council vice chair for the 2023-24 school year. After graduation, Shelby will be working as a consultant with Forvis Mazars US and plans to attend graduate school in the future.
  • Camryn McPherson (Union, Ky.): Camryn studied psychology and minored in political science. At UofL, Camryn was the chair of the McConnell Scholar’s Council and was heavily involved in Ignite Campus Ministries, where she worked as an associate staff member, donor relations, and servant leader. She worked with Program Director Dr. Gary Gregg to edit and publish the McConnell Center edition of Kahil Gibran’s The Prophet, and was head of the Mecosta Circle. After graduation, Camryn will be going full-time in ministry at Ignite The Ville where she will serve as the freshmen ministry director and facilitate donor relations.
  • Jack Moseley (Glasgow, Ky.): Jack majored in neuroscience and political science. During his time at UofL, he visited twenty-eight countries, including traveling alone across Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Panama for three months. After graduation, Jack will be applying to medical school, entering the workforce, and getting married. 
  • Greta Noble (Fort Thomas, Ky.): Greta will be graduating with degrees in biology and Spanish, with a minor in political science. At UofL, she served as the Student Government Association director of coordination to the academic vice president, REACH structured learning assistant and peer mentor, and a member of Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity. Greta worked as a Spanish interpreter for The Kentucky Racing Health Services Clinic for the majority of her college career and spearheaded a free HPV vaccination clinic that provided a service opportunity for the McConnell Scholars to take part in last year. After graduation, Greta will be attending The Ohio State Medical School to obtain her MD.
  • Allie Rose Phillips (Manchester, Ky.): Allie Rose studied political science. At UofL, she worked as the student body president of the Student Government Association, chair of the Kentucky Board of Student Body Presidents, and was both an Honors and Henry Vogt Scholar. She worked as an intern for Senator Mitch McConnell and Kentucky State Senate President Robert Stivers. After graduation, Allie Rose will be entering the workforce before attending law school. 
  • Mallory Slucher (Louisville, Ky.): Mallory will be graduating with degrees in Arabic Language and Middle Eastern culture and political science, with minors in Arabic and Islamic Studies. At UofL, Mallory was a student leader in CRU Campus Ministry and a member of both the United Nations Association, Model EU, and the Arabic Language and Culture Club. She also interned at Kentucky Refugee Ministries and Refuge International, and spent a semester studying in Rabat, Morocco. Mallory is enrolled in the accelerated BA/MA Political Science program and after graduation will be pursuing her MA. She has accepted a graduate administrative assistantship as a graduate peer counselor in the Financial Aid Office and will be getting married in June. 
  • William VonHandorf (Independence, Ky.): Will majored in political science with minors in history and criminal justice. At UofL, he served as president of the United Nations Association and received multiple awards for diplomacy and debate from the ICIP Model United Nations Competition. Will also worked as a legal clerk for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Kentucky. After graduation, he will be taking a gap year before attending law or graduate school. 
  • Anna Williams (Lawrenceburg, Ky.): Anna studied English on a public and professional writing track with a minor in political science. At UofL, Anna wrote for The Louisville Cardinal as an opinion editor and has published her writings in The Courier Journal and The White Squirrel, UofL’s student-run literary magazine. Anna was a routine volunteer at the Rosewater Bookstore and Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs. She is also a Woodford R. Porter Scholar and interned as an educational journalist in the communications division at the Kentucky Department of Education in 2022. After graduation, Anna plans to enter the workforce and begin graduate school, studying English rhetoric and writing composition at the University of Louisville in the fall.
  • Joe Wilson (Hebron, Ky.): Joe will be graduating with a degree in political science with a minor in history. At UofL, Joe was the news editor for The Louisville Cardinal and a member of the undergraduate Moot Court team. He worked as a legal intern for Moore Law Group. After graduation, Joe will be pursuing law school.
