Lisa C. Wagner

FACULTY PROFILE

Dr. Lisa Wagner (Ph.D Ohio State University; MA University of Pittsburgh) conducts research in the areas of sociopragmatics, discourse analysis, gender, and popular culture. She has recently published articles in such journals as Intercultural CommunicationStudies, and the International Journal of Applied Linguistics. Her current research projects involve Las Madres de Plaza de Mayo, the theory and analysis of scripts of task-based interaction, and the semiotics of advertising. Dr. Wagner is a board member of the International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies and a reviewer for the Kentucky Journal of Excellence in College Teaching and Learning. She regularly teaches Introduction to Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish Phonetics and Diction, and Introduction to Sociolinguistics (SPAN and LING).
