Photo or Video Consent Guidelines

UofL's guidelines for using student photos or video of students can be reviewed below. If a release is required, you can find it here.

Release Not Required

A release is generally not required if UofL community members, including students, are:

• Photographed in a public space or public events (e.g. student activities)
• Photographed in a non-public event but the primary focus is not recognizable
• UofL faculty or staff
• Invited to attend a group activity/event and chose to participate.

Release Required

A release is required if students are the primary focus in a non-public space an are recognizable, and if they’re under the age of 18.
