Arabic

The Arabic minor program at the University of Louisville is the newest addition to the Classical and Modern Languages Department. Arabic language is one of the fastest growing business languages in the world. The minor program introduces students to the beautiful language of Arabic, the culture of generosity, and the rich history and literature of the Middle East and North Africa. The Arabic classes offered at our department focus on developing fundamental skills in writing, reading, listening, and speaking. The professors will work with students on the development of effective communication skills in increasingly complex and varied situations, with emphasis on conversational speaking, presentational writing, and understanding culturally specific texts and media. A minor degree in Arabic can complement student's intended major study.
