Professor Chris Reitz with Arts and Science Distinguished Faculty Award

Congratulations to Professor Chris Reitz for winning the Arts and Sciences Distinguished Faculty Award for Service to the Community!

Dr. Reitz has been recognized for his contributions to the artistic and creative life of Louisville, including his work on the Louisville Commission on Public Art, the commission on Louisville’s public monuments, and his ongoing exhibition programming and community outreach. Dr. Reitz has also worked with local institutions on their arts programming, including advising the Louisville Airport on the commission of a new large-scale sculptural work and the ongoing development of an airport arts program. He has also partnered with Louisville Visual Art to continue to develop Louisville’s Open Studio Weekend event, and, recently, to consult with the Louisville Ballet. Dr. Reitz has been an invited juror for local and regional arts awards programs as well, including Art Prize Pitch Night and Louisville’s Fund for the Arts.
