ARC well represented at 2022 AASLD meeting

The UofL Alcohol Research Center was well presented at the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease meeting in Washington, DC, November 4-8, 2022.  Our members presented more than 15 posters and oral presentations.

Here, we highlight some achievements of our students:

  • Fengyuan Li: Oral Presentation: Orally administered fecal extracellular vesicles from alcohol-associated hepatitis patients exacerbated alcohol-induced liver steatosis in mice.
  • Josiah Hardesty: Poster of Distinction. Hepatic protein signatures of responders and non-responders to prednisolone treatment for alcohol-associated hepatitis: clinical and preclinical insights.
  • Jenny Chen: Poster of Distinction. CRAMP deficiency attenuated liver injury from high fat diet plus alcohol through regulation of fgf21/adiponectin signaling and gut microbiota in mice.
  • Manasa Sunkara: Poster of Distinction: Taurine supplementation attenuates alcohol-associated liver disease through suppression of MiRNA194 by TUG1 with subsequent stimulation of FXR-FGF15 signaling in mice.
