LOUISVILLE, Ky.— U of L researchers will participate in the Third Annual Conference of the International Society for the Prevention of Tobacco Induced Diseases October 29-November 1.
The theme of this year’s conference is “How Tobacco Kills.” New research will be presented on a variety of tobacco related health topics such as birth defects, diabetes and new trends in smoking cessation treatment.
In addition to U of L researchers, highlights will include presentations from John F. Banzhaf, III, founder of Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) and Dr. Jeffrey Wigand, the former Brown & Williamson whistle-blower whose actions inspired the movie The Insider.
The conference will be held at the Seelbach Hotel October 29th through November 1st, 2004, and will include a trip to Churchill Downs racetrack for the Opening Day of the Fall Meet.
The International Society for the Prevention of Tobacco Induced Diseases is an academic, scientific and humanitarian organization, governed by academic health professionals from several countries.
