Guidelines for Appointments to Graduate Faculty
Graduate faculty appointments require a recommendation from the Chair of a graduate degree-granting program to the School of Medicine Graduate Council. The recommendation is voted on and forwarded to the School of Medicine Vice Dean for Research, who makes the appointment on behalf of the Dean of the School of Medicine. Recommendations may be made using this Application Form.
There are two levels of appointment: Graduate Faculty level allow faculty to teach in graduate courses, mentor Audiology clinical research/service projects, direct Speech Pathology graduate projects, and serve on graduate student thesis and dissertation committees; Graduate Research Training Faculty level allow faculty to also serve as mentors for MS and PhD student research, and chair graduate student thesis and dissertation committees. (Programs may consider other qualifications (e.g. work experience, research) when recommending faculty for graduate faculty membership. Such exceptions must be documented and approved by the School of Medicine Graduate Council.)
Criteria for Graduate Research Training Faculty
