PANDEMIC FLU: WILL IT OCCUR & ARE WE PREPARED? - ONLINE COURSE
PURPOSE AND TARGET AUDIENCE
This course
examines the clinical characteristics and infectivity of avian influenza as well
as the physiology of influenza viruses. Dr. Gall discusses the signs and threat
of the avian influenza pandemic and explains the difference between pandemic and
interpandemic.
Measures that reduce the transmission of influenza, the
importance of annual influenza vaccination, and the development of and barriers
to an appropriate vaccine are also presented. This course is designed for
all healthcare professionals.
CONTINUING
EDUCATION CREDIT
Physician Credit - University of Louisville
Continuing Health Sciences Education designates this educational activity for a
maximum of 1.5 hours of Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition
Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she
actually spent in the educational activity.
Nursing Credit - This program has been approved by the
Kentucky Board of Nursing for 1.8 contact hours through the University of
Louisville School of Nursing, provider number 3-0046-01-2013-10, expiration date
January 31, 2013. The Kentucky Board of Nursing approval of an individual

take an online test and receive your results instantly.
If you pass, you
will be taken to a web page confirming your continuing education credit, which
you will need to print for your records. If you do not pass, you may retake the
course as many times as necessary.
