PURPOSE AND TARGET AUDIENCE Humana Military Healthcare Services is pleased to sponsor two new continuing medical education topics for physicians, covering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Civilian providers are not well versed in diagnosis and treatment of PTSD and TBI, but these diseases are prevalent in civilian populations and are of increasing importance as active duty, reserve, and guard troops return from war with these problems, which may go undetected.
This CME offering will help prepare providers for this challenge, with benefit to both civilian trauma patients and affected service members. Improved quality of care will reduce healthcare costs and morbidity related to these conditions.
This course is designed for all physicians who provide care for civilian, veteran, and active duty military patients who have witnessed or have been exposed to serious trauma.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT Physicians - The University of Louisville Continuing Health Sciences Education office designates this educational activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
INSTRUCTIONS & REGISTRATION This course is offered free of charge to physicians. The course consists of a lecture presentation for each topic (PTSD and TBI) and 2 case simulations, and takes approximately two hours to complete. Completion of both cases is required to receive CME credit. However, you may exit this program and return where you left off at any time. We recommend viewing both didactic presentations first before beginning the case simulations. Register For Your Course
