Course Description
Each class session will focus on a “case study” that will be posted to the course BlackBoard website and is reproduced in a syllabus, with supporting reading materials, and a more self-directed Wiki case study. Each class session will begin with an introduction by Dean Halperin, followed by a panel discussion, with panelists drawn from the faculties of the University of Louisville, the Archdiocese of Louisville, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, as well as members of the Louisville clergy and private medical practice communities.  On January 9 and January 12, the panel discussion will be followed by a Question & Answer session led by Dean Halperin.  Students are encouraged to question the panelists and participate in the discussions.  On January 17 and January 23, the panel discussion will be followed by 16 small group discussions facilitated by medical school faculty.
