Great Places to Work

The University’s vision reflects a mandate that the University of Louisville become a “preeminent metropolitan research university” by the year 2020.  In articulating this vision, the University recognizes that to be successful we must reflect the following values:

  • The passion to break new ground.
  • The insight to champion community.
  • The imagination to pursue the undiscovered.
  • The will to achieve greatness.
  • The promise of a limitless future.
  • The people to bring it to life.

Faculty and staff give life to our vision of becoming a premier metropolitan research university.  Faculty contribute to student success in the classroom, generate knowledge through research and creative endeavor, and translate knowledge into practical solutions that improve the lives of the citizens of our city and state.  Staff employees help make this work possible, both in providing direct support to our academic and research activities, as well as through the myriad ways their work supports University operations.

Making faculty and staff concerns a priority is what our Great Places to Work Initiative is all about.  This website will be use to post items of interest to the University community regarding our GPTW Initiative.  If you have an idea about how UofL can become a better place to work, grow, and thrive please let us know.  We are confident that by working together, we can not only improve campus climate, but also make the University of Louisville one of the truly outstanding places to work among the higher education community.
