IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Renew Get Healthy Now membership for 2010!  DEADLINE:  FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2009

Anyone, including current participants, who want to participate in Get Healthy Now must complete an on-line health-risk assessment.


Get Healthy Now offers Free Health Screening

Do you ‘know your biometric numbers’ (cholesterol, blood pressure, etc)?  If not, contact Get Healthy Now to schedule your health screening: ghn@louisville.edu or 852-7755.  This information can be used to complete the health risk assessment and will give you a more accurate and comprehensive ‘snapshot’ of your overall health status.

Basic Pantry:  UofL’s Newest Nutrition Initiative provides:

Shelf-stable items and fresh produce you can buy with cash or your meal card, 2-3 simply delicious recipes per month, and real-life practice to build your cooking skills whether you’re a novice or expert cook, Basic Pantry makes it easy to create deliciously nutritious meals. Basic Pantry products are conveniently located in Cardinal’s Nest, University Tower Apartments

New website connects Kentucky consumers with agriculture producers

The Center for Health Hazards Preparedness wants to remind you that it's never too early to get prepared for all hazards, including pandemic flu.


UofL's Belknap Campus Goes Smoke Free

On Nov. 19, the University of Louisville will institute a policy that prohibits smoking on all campuses.  From Nov. 19 to June 1, designated smoking areas will be established on Belknap and affected Shelby Campus buildings to allow faculty, staff and students time to adjust to the policy. Starting June 1, 2010 however, the designated smoking areas will cease to exist and the policy will be fully enforced on all campuses.  For smoking cessation classes offered through Get Healthy Now
