Brown Fellows Program
Brown Fellows is a prestigious enrichment program aimed at preparing students for twenty-first century careers. It is open to residents and non-residents of Kentucky with a 31 ACT or 1360 SAT (CR + M) and 3.35 GPA. The following must be provided:
One essay answering - One of the key components of the Brown Fellows Program is funding for enrichment experiences, which typically occur in the summer. Fellows work with program and faculty mentors to develop an enhanced academic experience consisting of individual study, research, field-based experiential learning, community service, or some combination of activities. If you were selected as a Brown Fellow, what would you be interested in pursuing as your first enrichment experience? Where would you want to go? Why?
Letter of recommendation - teacher
Letter of recommendation - principal or counselor
Letter of recommendation - non-family member or community leader
10 awards given each year
Recipients will be scholarly, well-rounded with diverse academic interests, and have a desire to stay in Kentucky after graduation or a desire to be an ambassador for the Commonwealth. The amount of the award will be determined by the committee, but will include full tuition, and an allowance for room, board and books. In addition, each fellow will receive funds to support their individual enrichment plan. On-campus interviews will be held March 22-23, 2013.
