Workday FIN focus on Lynne Stuedli

Lynne Stuedli is the UofL project director on the Workday Finance project and director of the Project Management Office for Information Technology Services.

“As the project director, I have had the opportunity to work with so many team members and learn about their functional area and business processes. My responsibility is to guide our project team in the activities and risks of our project, collaborating with our leads to take important items to our Steerco leaders for decision-making or awareness, and ensure our leaders are informed of progress.”

Questions for Lynne:

What are the biggest benefits you see with the Workday Finance implementation?

Creating a mindset of system thinking will enable us to leverage our investment. An enterprise system for HR and Finance will give us more insights and allow us to get more control of our data, processes, and costs.

What are you most excited about with the new system?

Seeing it all come to life. The team is working tirelessly to reimagine processes, knock down barriers and balance controls. Working with our functional teams in the first few months after go-live are usually invigorating and rewarding as they see their hard work come shining through in a new streamlined process or an automated process.

Favorite place (e.g., stadium, brewery, home) to watch Louisville football games?

Cardinal stadium was built after I graduated UofL and moved out of state, so I have been watching from home for many years. My son and daughter now live in Louisville, and this past year my daughter started graduate school at UofL, so it was a special moment to cheer on the Cards in the stadium for the first time with my family.

Are you currently binge-watching any shows?

Friends and Grey’s Anatomy. I have caught a few episodes of Friends here and there and always found it funny, but watching the entire series in sequential order has made it one of my favorites of all time. With last season of Grey’s Anatomy introduction of the new interns it has inspired me to go back to the beginning when it all started.

If someone is only going to be in Louisville for the weekend, what should they do?

Go to the track if there is racing at Churchill Downs plus a backside tour, Louisville Zoo, Louisville Slugger Museum and an evening dinner cruise on the Belle of Louisville.
