The Student-Parent Association (SPA) is an organization of student-parents supported by the Women’s Center at the University of Louisville. UofL student-parents may view college from different perspectives, face many challenges, and take on different roles as moms, dads, single-parents, married, while being a student at the same time. By providing a positive and supportive outlook and campus environment for both prospective and current UofL students, we contribute to the academic success of our student families. Purpose
- Promote the academic success of the university’s student parents.
- Offer support, services, and campus and community resources to student-parents who are pursuing a college degree. This can include childcare, housing, academic, etc.
- Help student-parents learn to balance their personal, social, academic, and professional lives.
- Connect student-parents on the University of Louisville campus with one another to build a community of belonging.
