Learn more about this and other facts by visiting the Women Center table at the Health Fair co-sponsored by the Black Student Nurses Association (BSNA) & U of L Women’s Center.
Human Trafficking Awareness Conference Wednesday February 8 5-8:30pm, Student Activities Center Multipurpose Room The Women 4 Women Student Board hosts this annual conference about this modern-day slavery issue in Louisville with local and national speakers. They encourage students and the public to become involved in efforts to make other people aware of the problem and to help stop it.
Co-Sponsor UofL Society of Women Engineers - Code: Debugging the Gender Gap Thursday February 9 5:30pm, Vogt CODE documentary exposes the dearth of American female and minority software engineers And explores the reasons for this gender gap and digital divide. The film highlights breakthrough efforts that are producing more diverse programmers and shows how this critical gap can be closed. CODE asks: what would society gain from having more women and minorities code and how do we get there?

Women's Unity March Wednesday March 22 12:15- 1:15, Chao Auditorium AAUW at UofL is beginning our celebration of women's history month by hosting a women's Unity March.
I’m #Flawless but Society Won’t Let Me Be Thursday March 23 12-1:30pm, Cultural Center Multipurpose Room. A Women's History Month event celebrating women and unpacking conversations of women in the media and reality TV, hair, colorism, and the "angry black woman." All are welcome to come, discuss and celebrate the achievements and progress of women! Lunch provided!
Co-Sponsor of MAMA Africa Saturday March 25 6-10pm, SAC Multipurpose Room. African Night is an annual event hosted by UofL’s African Student Union to showcase the beauty and diversity of the African continent. This year’s theme is " MAMA AFRICA" to celebrate African pioneer women with the University of Louisville community.
Student Parent Association Cards Adulting: Budgeting Wednesday, March 29 1-2pm, Muhammad Ali Institute Conference Room #280 Ekstrom Library Was it your new year's resolution to save more money? This is the workshop for you! Join the Student-Parent Association in a brief workshop with Commonwealth Credit Union to learn tips on how to balance your budget.

APRIL
Anti-Street Harassment Week: April 2-8
Chalk-It Out Monday April 3 11am-1pm, Red Barn Come reclaim your personal space back with sidewalk chalk at the Red Barn. Write all the unspoken messages you've wanted to say to harassers and any inappropriate comments that have been said to you. Come show your support to victims by signing a pledge to combat street harassment.
Equal Pay Day April 4
PEACC Take Back the Night Tuesday, April 4 5pm, Red Barn The purpose of the Annual Take Back the Night is to bring together organizations, civic leaders, and individuals of Louisville and Jefferson County to protest violence against women and to promote awareness of the attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors, which perpetuate this specific type of violence.
Cards Against Catcalling Thursday April 6 6-7:30pm. Red Barn This is a Women 4 Women Student Board & Women’s Center sponsored event in recognition of International Anti-Street Harassment Week . Join us as we come together to discuss our thoughts and share our experiences by discussing what street harassment is, the prevalence of it, and ways to combat street harassment in our community with a Title IX Coordinator of the CASE Project.

Find the Fierceness in You: Closing the Confidence Gap Thursday April 13 12-1pm, Career Development Center Stop playing by the rules and find the ‘fierceness’ in you! Join the Women’s Center, Career Development Center & the Noble H. Kelley Psychological Services Center in using mindfulness to overcome your fears and gain confidence.
$tart $mart Salary Negotiation Workshop Thursday April 13 4-6:30pm. SRC 107 An interactive workshop designed to give college women the confidence and skills they need to earn fair compensation and help close the gender gap. Light refreshments.

Cardinal Kickback Wednesday April 26 10am-2pm, Women’s Center Finals are right around the corner! Come and relax with the Student-Parent Association in between your exams. This will be a great time to enjoy food and fellowship with other student-parents. Children are welcome to attend.

UofL Brown Cancer Center Mammogram Unit (Belknap) Tuesday May 16 8:30am-3:30pm, Gottschalk Circle, next to the Shumaker Research Building The U of L Women’s Center co-sponsors this event on the Belknap campus each semester. Mammogram appointments are for U of L employees over the age of 40. Appointments are requested in advance. Call 852-6318 to schedule.
